i'm back. [03 Aug 2005|12:59am]
wow its been a while. i've been in WA the whole summer and just got back a couple days ago. man its just awesome up there. awesome. the weather is so nice. and all these people that i've been telling them how nice the weather up there is... they're probably all getting sick of it. but it is nice up there. check out the photo page from the summer. got lots of pics on there. but its good to be back. i've missed all my neighborhood friends. I met some people my age up there, and even met a nice girl (i sound like my mom... ha).. we hung out for maybe a week or two before she decided that she liked her boyfriend more than me. fine with me... but according to her, he's gay, didn't graduate from high school, and will never amount to anything. (and I think hes a tool) her choice, her loss. whatever. no skin off my back. its good to have the raleigh crowd back. i missed ya'll. ha.

more later. i'm tired. bye

p.s. i'm 18 whats up...

here we go. [11 May 2005|08:54pm]
[ mood | i hate these idiots. ]

ok read this.
now. first of all, I'd like to put my opinion out in the open on this one. I am not a republican. I'm more on the liberal side of things. I think that it doesn't matter who your significant other/life partner is. I think that stem cell research is a good idea. I think that Bush could handle some things better. And I also think that antagonistic protesting (AKA protesting for the sole reason of causing confrontation; see above article) is the stupidest idea in the world. just like those people who stood outside the hospice where Terri Schiavo was and protested for days... thats not the way to get things done.
but anyway. I think that these people that protested in front of the theatre where the play was going on are complete, disrespectful morons. They're standing on an american flag, waving signs that say "thank god for Sept 11". where does September 11 come into play with a protest against homosexuality? and WTF do they think they're going to accomplish by waving signs that say things like that? sept 11 was an attack on the United States and our ideals. That day is an ugly scar on the memory of many people around the world. there is no situation in which it is appropiate to invoke those emotions of horror and immense sadness that followed those devastating attacks on the US in the manner that they did. and it definitely is not appropiate to use that event and the accompanying memories in a protest of gays and a play about gays. not appropiate or effective at all.
some people need to wise up about whats appropiate on the streets of the U.S. before they go marching around on top of the nation's flag waving signs that praise terrorist attacks on the very nation they are in.
I'm ashamed to say i live in the same country as these idiots, much less the same state or the same metropolitan area.
people suck.

read this first.

now. screw all this suspension crap. you know that apology was total bullshit. and as soon as his suspension is over he's gonna be out there on the court punchin' the other team's coach in the nads or somethin. watch out for those crazy WF types. what they should do: since he punched somebody, he should get punched. twice as hard.
man this is the worst time of year for that to happen. Julius is gonna be sore for a while. apologies can't heal physical pain.
maybe they should let Julius step on his face.

have you seen this yet?
pretty cool stuff. I want one.
this lady doesn't seem to think so. I'm number 13 on the comment list. grrr some people make me mad.
something else that doesn't exactly make me mad, it just annoys me b/c people don't pay enough attention to get it right: when people refer to the United States as "America." Now, this isn't completely incorrect by itself, but its just not specific. But when someone from the United States is speaking to someone from, say, Canada, and they say, "Well, being an American and all, I think that George W. is an idiot. what about you?" this implies that since they are from Canada, they aren't an American. WRONG. (but W. is still an idiot) America stretches all the way from Northern Canada all the way to Tierra Del Fuego in Argentina. we (people in the US) feel that being an "American" is the same as being a "citizen of the United States." this is not true. it is true in reverse order though. Someone from Paraguay is just as much an American as someone from the very northernmost point of Nunavut(in Canada). they might not speak the same languages or have the same culture but that doesn't matter. and W. isn't helping it at all by saying "My fellow americans: blah blah blah i'm stupid" all the time.
woooo.

[ music | the doors ]

hmm. me and DVD and stevie were going to bojangles today. we were stopped at a light (the light was, in fact, red. we confirmed this). the lady behind us was driving some huge jeep or something. a grand cherokee (i'd never drive one unless i got it for free). and i guess she was hallucinating or something b/c she all of a sudden thought the light turned green and hit the gas, even though the car that me stevie and DvD were in was not, technically, moving. so she ran into us. i don't know what kind of person can mistake red for green, but she was one of them. i mean, how do you do something like that??? what a tool. doesn't even know red from green. and don't post saying "hey you're being discriminating what if she was colorblind blah blah blah blah"
ok. i've never seen a traffic light where the green is on top and the red is on the bottom. what im saying is even if shes colorblind, she still knows which light is the red one... you get it.
i guess im still bad luck as far as car accidents go.

i have 6 remaining gmail invitations and 4 remaining referrals needed. and dare i say there could be some "monetary compensation" involved for a completed referral??
here's the link.

EDIT 2/16/04: I now have 49 gmail invitations left. I don't know why i have this many. if you want one let me know.
btw that ref link is for a free ipod. i've kinda given up hope on that one but i might get one anyway so whatever.

sometimes life sucks. not all of life, just the parts that appear to be going really good then they kinda crash and burn. i hate it when that happens. maybe ill tell you about it at some point. not now though.

[26 Jan 2005|08:56pm]
i was reading my last entry and it occurred to me.... this isn't really a political website, so ill try to keep stuff like the entry below to a minimum. after 4 years, making fun of the president is kinda getting worn out. unless he makes some new stupid comments.
so. evidently prom is april 2. but they're going to stop selling tickets next week or something??? its not even february yet... why are they selling tickets in january for something in april? i don't even know if im going. i guess ill decide in the next week or so
school is kinda stupid when it comes to things like prom. i've talked to some people that say that there will not be any live music (as in bands, etc). many other people that i've talked to say that they'd be willing to pay extra for a ticket ($5 maybe) if it meant having live music at prom instead of RAP RAP RAP some other popular stuff RAP RAP RAP constantly for 4 hours. i can't see spending 3 or 4 hours there. even if the gym lobby does get decorated like crazy. i guess we'll see in 3 months when prom happens

"Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease." - George W. Bush
now... in no way am I attempting to minimalize the suffering or disease of anyone in Africa, but I have yet to see a nation called "Africa." I mean, if Africa was a nation, would Egypt and Morocco and the other 50 sovereign entities be states? uh... nope. sorry W, but you're off the mark by one level on this one. Africa is what they call a "continent", which is something that a whole bunch of nations makes up. I know that its not very nice to make fun of the mistakes of people that make more money than me (let alone anyone else), but it is pretty satisfying. so, just to clear things up for everyone thats been puzzling over this one for a while: africa is not a "nation". its a continent.
there seems to be endless material available for people to make fun of. a lot of this material is generated by George W. or whoever writes his speeches. or both. and people take advantage of that. take this for example. theres no end in sight. except in 2009 when the next president is inaugurated. maybe he'll be able to make it 4 years without people making websites and books and movies about him.
ok i should go write that outline for achenbach

... [12 Jan 2005|06:14pm]
this week is taking forever to be over. too long. this school year would be a lot better if it was over right now. if summer break started now, and we went back to school in september, I'd be ok with that. this whole going-to-school-until-june thing... it doesn't do it for me. i only like a few of my classes, and its getting hard to like those. for example, drafting this semester was supposed to be completely on autocad, but somebody stole 3 computers out of the drafting room, and now we don't know wtf we're going to do for the next 8 weeks. greeeat. another example: english. i used to like that class evem though achenbach is a bad teacher, just because i had ok grades. NOW, i've gotten an F and an F and my average is not passing. i hate school. but... so does everybody else. so nothing new here.
the one piece of good news is that i got my car back from the dealer. so i have a radio again. (my dad's car has no radio.. nevermind).
i need to find another way of procrastinating

[ music | Anonymous Skulls - Medeski, Martin & Wood ]

so. winter formal is this saturday. in case you're not at Enloe, im sorry. you're going to miss out. nothing i can do.
anyway, this saturday. i can' think of anywhere to go for dinner besides PF Chang's or Irregardless Cafe. Both of which are not on my list of "cheapy restaurants," im just saying i can't think of anything else. not that i have a "cheapy restaurant" list anyway, i was just making a point... forget it. should be fun though. speaking of fun, i've just been told that i will be carrying catherine's train while david VD sprinkles the rose petals in front of her. and he has to wear a funny hat and funny shoes too. this should be quite a night. see you there. and watch for the procession ~ 8:30 or so.. we have to be fashionably late

no subject [23 Dec 2004|01:59am]
exams are over and break has begun. not much to say about break, except that its nice to be able to sit around and not have to do anything. of course if i had i job that wouldn't be the case but lets not go there.
one thing that i've noticed while im talking to people online is that when theres a lull (or awkward "silence" so to speak) in conversation some people try and get it started again by saying "sooo" or "yeah" or something else that kinda makes it seem like they don't want to talk about it any more but they want you to talk about it some more... i don't really know what im trying to say here except that its annoying. thats pretty much it. i would attempt an example but im kinda tired and my brain turned off a couple hours ago.
as long as we're on the topic of annoying things, how about when you bring up something embarrassing to someone then they say "yeah about that" i don't know why but that really annoys me.
also when people are overly sarcastic and insulting at the same time, like if you trip on something and they say "hey walk much?" or if you mess up a word or two (everyone does it at some point) they're like "hey talk much? har har" ahhh shut up no ones perfect.
the thing about annoying people is, if they're only annoying once in a while, like once every month or two, it doesn't matter... but every day, drives me crazy. ok im done with this rant and now is the time for sleep good night.

ok. i have a proposal. since nobody is going to my freeipods referral and i have some GMail invites to give out, ill give you a gmail invitation if you complete an offer on freeipods.com . now, that means signing up under my referral link, and completing an offer. once i see that you've done that, ill send a gmail invitation to the email address that you used to sign up on freeipods.com with. deal? deal.
time for more studying.

FREE! well not really [14 Dec 2004|11:19pm]
ok. so i decided that instead of spending $300 on a new iPod, i would spend some time trying to figure out the gimmick behind freeipods.com. evidently some people have recieved ipods from this site, so i guess its not a total gimmick. so if you're feeling generous and want a free ipod like me, go here to sign up and get me a referral, and then you can post an update begging your friends/readers to sign up under your referral! its just that easy. i mean come on... who doesn't want to sign up for 2 weeks of free blockbuster.com DVDs? i mean even if you have to pay the $17.49 fee to receive credit at Freeipods.com, its still like getting an ipod for $17.49 instead of $300. and you get free movies too.

[ mood | its the weekend. ]

we beat N.B. (Need-some-something Broughton) 79-75 tonight. thats right. those jeep-driving, funny-talking, popped-collar-on-a-shirt-that-is-a-pastel-color-wearing, going-to-a-school-that-looks-like-an-ancient-castle people. we beat them. i don't know if thats a big deal or not... im not too up on the whole sports thing in the High School 'leagues' or whatever they're called. conferences i guess.
band concert was tonight. went ok. it would have been better if certain band directors could direct an entire piece without messing up. but everybody messes up sometimes. i guess.

[ music | metallica - nothing else matters ]

updating has kinda fallen off. thats ok though as long as i still do it sometime. I'm planning on getting a job somewhere. but "planning" is the wrong word, because that implies that i have a choice in whether i work somewhere or not. i guess i should say im "waiting" to get a job somewhere, because i put in applications at 4 or 5 different places and haven't heard back from any of them.
marching band is over for the year, unless you count pep band. i think it will turn out to be a good group once we get that little issue with instrumentation worked out. come hear us at every home game. if you want to, that is.
nothing new really. i just kinda want to keep this blog, if you will, up because its the 2nd or 3rd one of these i've had, and the other 2 i kindof forgot about after a few days. we'll see.
ok so now is the time for sleeping. next update.. maybe once break starts?

weekend update [14 Nov 2004|04:30pm]
[ music | eagles - life in the fast lane ]

not really a weekend update.. i just said that b/c i saw on saturday night live's weekend update that the georgia board of education banned the word evolution from biology curriculums. but as a compromise, dinosaurs are now called "jesus horses." hahahahaha
so. first update since... sometime earlier. a week i guess. wednesday night was the famed drumline cookout/"sleep"over ("sleep" because there wasn't very much of it) and nothing was really cook'ed out either. but it was still a lot of fun. if you've never seen supertroopers you need to go see it right now. stop reading this and go watch it. because its that funny. then thursday was the vet. parade and i don't think ive ever been that cold and tired at the same time. marching wasn't too bad b/c i was playing but sitting there holding a cold metal instrument after sleeping for 1 and a half hours is not my idea of a day off. and then i came home after it and slept for the rest of the day. not a very good day off. but then friday was a one day week and that was good. then saturday which was hiking 6miles for church and then charity ball band reh. then charity ball. that was fun fun even though i think it should have gone to midnight instead of 11. oh well. thats all everybody go home
